Jhendin
Dear Jhendin, please stop removing the deletion request template from articles. In other Wikipedias they'd have you banned already for this. It's obvious from your article that you are able to contribute to our project in Romansh. It's not enough to take phrases from other articles if you mix the different orthografies (called idioms in Romansh). It's also not enough to copy&paste text in Italian to "save" you article since this project isn't written in Italian. If you wish for an article to be written in the Romansh language, you can ask one of the users to create it for you, otherwise the page will be deleted. Thanks. --Andreas 00:10, 18 avust 2009 (CEST)
- Well, I don't know what's your reason for attacking me in this way, but thanks anyway for your response. I have no idea what you mean by saying that I "didn't even create a user page for the Romansch Wikipedia" since I do have a user page. What I am "monitoring", as you want to call it, is not your article but the recent changes since I'm currently the only active user of the usual stuff on this Wiki. It was not my idea to introduce the five-sentence rule for articles, but I think it was the best idea in a long time since a lot of people just drop by, create a substub-class article (like e.g. Juanes or Shakira, which I didn't put up for deletion, FYI) and disappear forever from this project. And if you would inform yourself a little bit better, you would recognise that my aim is to save as many of these articles as possible (check here). I started translating your article from the German Wikipedia, but I doubt I will continue after your nice message. It has now four sentences, may the community decide what to do. But if there's anything else you need, don't hesitate and ask. --Andreas 01:18, 18 avust 2009 (CEST)
- I don't think it's up to you to decide when I have go to bed. Anyway, what I said is that I started translating your article today after you had repeatedly removed a template from the page. If this were there German Wikipedia, you would've be banned for a week; but it's not, so let's get over it. Your article has now five sentences thanks to user Mondschein.
- What I really wonder about is, why you should have to google me if signed all my posts on your talk page? Wether my SUL name is Kazu89 or not doesn't matter in this discussion, it was user Andreas (which is, me) who asked you not to break the rules of this project, so you'll have to deal with user Andreas to solve the issue.
- I explained you already why there's need for some restrictive rules on the Romansh Wikipedia. We are only a small project with very few regular contributers. Every now and then people write a stub in what they believe is Romansh and nobody will ever find them to correct and expand them. When I put the "delete stub" template to a page it's mainly to put in the category of delete-wothy stubs. There's nobody to delete them, after all. Indeed, very few articles in this category have been deleted so far. I guess you could count them with your fingers. Those pages contained less than one complete sentence, sometimes just a large-scale picture. Thus you don't even have to fear about your article. Plus, I regularly check the category for articles I can expand. I will perhaps also tag Juanes with the template in order to find the page again and to thus be able to expand it.
- Your article about JMT will be finished by Friday. There will be need for a native speaker to proofread it. And, please, before you start a new article contact any local user of your choice and ask for help.
- Take care, Andreas 04:08, 18 avust 2009 (CEST)
US and Mexican states
modifitgarHello Jhendin, long time no see. Please note that the US and Mexico have stadis federativs (the final -s marks the plural). "Pajais federativs" is the expression to describe the constituent states of Austria and Germany which are called Bundesland rather than Bundesstaat, which to my knowledge are both called "federal states" in English. The wording stadi parzial, probably from German Teilstaat (something like constituent state) should not be used when we know the correct title. Moreover, stadi parzial is not featured in Grand Dictionary of the Romansh Language. It was most like coined by a former user who had no knowledge of the language. Take care and good work.
--Andreas 14:41, 6 mars 2010 (CET) P.S.: I'm not "monitoring" you, just keeping an eye on the Recent Changes.
- Well, the last time you didn't seem very happy 'bout my support ;-) Right now I'm creating a category system for the US and categorizing the articles you've done so far. If you wait some 15 mins you'll have the categories you'll need for your states. Note, however, that I'm not a native speaker either. --Andreas 15:01, 6 mars 2010 (CET)
- Okay, things are ready. You can take the diff of the Alabama article as an example of how you should do the others. Categories for both the US and Mexico are ready. If you have problems, just ask me. --Andreas 15:14, 6 mars 2010 (CET)
- Hi, it's me again. There's another little thing I want draw your attention to. In Swiss typography, the thousands in a figure are usually seperated by an apostrophe, e.g. 2'855'390 abitants. If not available, a blank space can be used. Please make sure you stick to this pattern and better do not use a point (or period). I tell you this because in Switzerland the point is sometimes (often?) used as decimal point like in English and contary the "Federal" and Austrian German. As of yet, we haven't found any clue on this in the regulator Lia Rumantscha's orthographic rules. Speaking for myself, a "German German", I'm not even certain of which is the best decimal seperator to be used in Swiss German. I mention Swiss German because this is what people writing in Romans use as a model. So, if you're really interested in learning some Romansh, you can try and find some answers. Would help me, too ;-) --Andreas 22:34, 7 mars 2010 (CET)

Hello James, everything fine? I have another request to make. Please refrain from using translated place names (OMG, how am I talking?). Romansh doesn't use many translated place names, especially not in the Americas. This is most likely due to its being an isolated language for centuries, protected by the mountains of Graubünden ;-) Don't hesitate to use state names in the original English or Spanish form. I will then check them with Romansh sources such as dictionaries and newspaper usage. After my corrections to the USA article, these names should correspond the actual usage. --Andreas 00:14, 14 mars 2010 (CET)
- Right, you will find translated names around here, but many (if not most) were introduced by that user I mentioned before. Others, like "Nova Valisa dal Sid" (lit. New Wales of the South) for New South Wales, Australia, were faults of my early days in this project. --Andreas 00:18, 14 mars 2010 (CET) I hope you can understand my English :-)
Allegra! It's interesting to see you writing an article while at the same nominating it for deletion. Maybe you misinterpreted the template "stub stidar" for a stub template, but "stidar" means "to delete". A full translation: "This article was nominated for speedy deletion as it doesn't contain enough information. The article was nomited for deletion because of its length and not because of the subject treated. The article will be deleted, should it not be extended within two weeks." --Andreas 02:00, 22 mars 2010 (CET)
Catsort and mountains
modifitgarHi James, how you doin'? ;-) I've just seen that you're doing some catsort in the mountain articles. You can use {{DEFAULTSORT:St. Helens}} if the sorting criteria are the same for all the categories. This technique is widely used in some wikipedias (German, Croatian – but not much liked on en.wiki) and proved to work fine. --Andreas 14:36, 30 matg 2010 (CEST)
- Hehe, I know I'm pain in the... ;-) but I think it's important to keep order in Vichipedia in order not to end up as chaotic as en.wiki did. Anyways, keep up your work, it's always nice to see somebody active in Vichipedia :-) --Andreas 14:54, 30 matg 2010 (CEST)
- The neck would do just as well but the ... leaves the choice to you. And I thought you'd tell my I was not ;-) Do your best, I try to keep an eye on the language. --Andreas 15:24, 30 matg 2010 (CEST)
- ta :-) You talk about the 48 states in one of your articles but that doesn't mean much to us. I guess it's the US mainland, so without Alaska and Hawaii? --79.234.147.208 13:18, 6 zercladur 2010 (CEST)
- You could say territori coerent dals Stadis Unids --Andreas 22:06, 6 zercladur 2010 (CEST)
